IPI, Tax on Real-estate Property

- Individuals pay 1 % per year in two half-yearly quotas, remaining exempt the properties that at the exchange rate does not exceed 5 million Dominican Pesos. If the value is higher, the first 5 million Dominican Pesos, will also be exempt.

- Legal Entities are exempt from the IPI, but they must pay a 1 % upon its assets, constituting this payment a credit against the Income tax.

- The Law of Foreign Investment establishes the principle of equality of treatment for the national and foreign investments, as well as it guarantees the same juridical protection, without any discrimination.
